One Shot Fano Jazz Festival 2011

When I was asked to contribute to the Fano Jazz Festival in Italy I wanted to reflect the emotions of Jazz with its vibrant energy, spontaneity and improvisation. Feeling this was best reflected in the photographic medium of Instant Polaroid, I dusted off my 70's Polaroid camera, some old colour film and bought some new black and white. The camera was adapted to take a ring flash and was perfect for multiple exposures. Immediately after each concert the polaroids were exhibited. This continued for the duration of the Festival. It was as much a performance off stage as on stage, giving an intimate and emotional representation for all to enjoy even if they had missed the previous nights performance.
All the photographs are on permenant show at the Fano Jazz Club.
